Merchandise exports from India slip 2.4 pc to $36.43 billion in January

New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) India's merchandise exports dipped 2.4% year-on-year in January 2025 to $36.43 billion, as per official data released on Monday.
India's merchandise exports in January 2024 had stood at $37.32 billion.
As per data released by Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India's merchandise imports surged to $59.42 billion in January this year from $53.88 billion in the corresponding period last year.
Accordingly, India's merchandise trade deficit during January 2025 stood at $22.99 billion.
As per official data, services exports from India during January this year stood at $38.55 billion as compared to $31.01 billion in the corresponding period last year thus registering a healthy growth of 24.31%.
India's overall exports (merchandise and services) stood at $74.97 billion in January 2025 as against $68.33 billion in January last year thus clocking a growth of 9.71% year-on-year.

Cabinet approves new policy for auction of coal linkage

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved a new policy titled Policy for Auction of Coal Linkage for Seamless, Efficient & Transparent Utilisation (CoalSETU).
Under the policy, a new CoalSETU window will be created within the existing Non-Regulated Sector (NRS) Coal Linkage Auction Policy, 2016, allowing coal linkages to be allocated through auctions on a long-term basis for any industrial use and export, without end-use restrictions.

Telangana Dairy to set up 400–500 Vijaya Dairy Parlours; aims to raise milk procurement: Chairman

Hyderabad, Dec 12 (UNI) Telangana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd (TDDCF) Chairman Gutha Amith Reddy on Friday announced that the Telangana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd plans to expand its Vijaya Dairy parlour network by setting up 400 to 500 new parlours over the next three to four years.
