Mehidy Hasan optimistic about transition period of Bangladesh, eyes 2027 World Cup

Dhaka, Mar 17 (UNI) Mehidy Hasan Miraz is optimistic about Bangladesh's cricketing future, believing there is enough experience within the squad to navigate the ongoing transition period following the recent retirement of key senior players.
The 27-year-old all-rounder, with over 180 appearances across formats for Bangladesh, is set to take on a senior role in the side. He has urged the more experienced players in the team to step up to fill the void left by the veterans retiring, most recently Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmud Ullah and Tamim Iqbal.
"Currently, there are six to seven players in the team who have been playing international cricket for 7-10 years. They can’t be considered new anymore," Mehidy said at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
