Mehbooba declines NC's invitation to join protest at Jantar Mantar

Srinagar, July 18 (UNI)Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has declined the invitation of the National Conference to join the protest at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
Mehbooba has written a letter to National Conference president Farooq Abdullah saying it would be a "betrayal" to demand only the restoration of statehood.
"It would not be in the fitness of things for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to participate in a protest whose raison d'être is solely and exclusively the demand for statehood", Mehbooba has written in her two-page letter.
