Meghan Markle and Billie team up to surprise teen affected by L.A. wildfires

Los Angeles, Feb 5 (UNI) Duchess of Sussex and "Happier Than Ever" singer Billie Eilish stepped in together to bring joy to a teenage girl who lost everything in the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires.
On February 4, Meghan Markle, 43 shared a video on her Instagram handle, revealing how she and the 23-year-old Grammy winning artist managed to restore a treasured possession for the young girl.
“I was just told that something arrived that I have been waiting for,” the "With Love, Meghan" star said in a selfie video as she excitedly walked through her home. She then let out a sigh of relief upon spotting a package filled with exclusive Billie Eilish merchandise.
The Duchess recounted an encounter she and Prince Harry, 40, had in Altadena, California, weeks prior, where they visited families affected by the Eaton Fire. Among them was a mother and her 15-year-old daughter, who had returned to the site of their destroyed home in search of anything salvageable, according to a report by PEOPLE.
The teen, devastated by the loss of her home, had been searching for one item in particular, a Tshirt from a Billie Eilish concert she had recently attended. In the family’s hurry to evacuate, the teen had left the top in either the washing machine or dryer.
Determined to bring solace to the teen, Meghan resolved to secure a replacement. “And so I said, ‘I don’t know Billie Eilish. But I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt.’ So I thought of everybody that I knew and I made a voice note and I was like, ‘Please, can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish? Here’s what I’m asking.'”
Her efforts did not go unanswered. Not only did Eilish respond, but she went above and beyond, sending an assortment of signed memorabilia. As Meghan unboxed the gifts including a decorated blue lunchbox, she laughed, admitting, “Is that a thing?”
After joking that she felt “really old,” Meghan sent a “huge thank you [to] Billie Eilish.” “This is going to mean so much to her,” she continued, also thanking Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and his wife Behati Prinsloo for their help in getting "this over the line."
She concluded: “To everyone who is showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California. Just thank you so much. I’m going to go and email her mom now. Just wanted to share that with you guys."
She captioned to her Instagram Reel, "Let’s keep supporting those affected by the California wildfires. Thanks to everyone who made this possible but most importantly, thank you to our first responders who are the community’s real heroes. As ever, Meghan." UNI XC SSP
