Meghalaya to host 7th Act East Business show from March 25

Shillong, Mar 17 (UNI) Meghalaya is set to host the 7th Act East Business Show to foster stronger economic and trade relations between Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal (BBIN), and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The business summit is organised by the Meghalaya government in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce, will be held at the State Convention Centre from March 25 to 27. It will be attended by 12 countries, including the Philippines, Germany, Indonesia, Cambodia, UAE, Japan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal.
“This flagship event aims to foster stronger economic and trade relations between BBIN & ASEAN nations, focusing on key sectors such as technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism,” an official said on Monday.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will inaugurate the business event alongside senior government officials from India and high-ranking diplomats. The inaugural session will highlight Meghalaya as a prime investment destination, showcasing potential investment avenues and business synergies.
The summit will feature three key sessions–Empowering Growth Through Technology and Innovation in Meghalaya, Making North East India Export Hub of Agriculture, Livestock, Food Processing and Manufacturing and North East India Travel, Tourism and Hospitality.
The event will conclude with a Valedictory Session, “Meghalaya – Future Roadmap,” outlining strategies for sustainable economic growth and regional cooperation.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Meghalaya is rapidly transforming into a premier investment destination, backed by progressive policies, robust infrastructural development, and a proactive governance framework. The state is dedicated to fostering a dynamic business ecosystem that encourages entrepreneurship, facilitates seamless investments, and enhances regional and international trade partnerships,” the official said.
With a strong emphasis on sustainable growth, innovation, and economic diversification, Meghalaya is poised to unlock new opportunities across key sectors, reinforcing its position as a strategic gateway for trade and investment in the region, the official said.
Over the three days of the event, there will be various B2B, B2G, meetings, matchmakings which will benefit the business fraternity, exporters, startups, FPO’s & FPC’s of Meghalaya.
