Meghalaya CM inspects first government engineering college, academic sessions to start soon

Shillong, May 19 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Monday visited the Shillong Government College of Engineering on Monday the first government engineering institution in the state, following its official approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to begin academic sessions from 2025.
On April 30, the AICTE issued the Letter of Approval to the Shillong Government College of Engineering located at Mawlai Kynton Massar in East Khasi Hills district to launch two undergraduate courses — Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering — under its affiliation with North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
Each programme will begin with an initial intake capacity of 30 students for the 2025–26 academic session.
