Meghalaya CM attends Pope Francis’ funeral service

Shillong, Apr 26 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, attended the funeral service of Pope Francis at the Vatican on Saturday.
Joining lakhs of people at St Peter’s Square, Sangma paid rich tributes to the Supreme Pontiff and said, “I feel truly blessed today to be part of the funeral service of Pope Francis. I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of years ago, and today, being part of the funeral service is very solemn and I feel very blessed.”
He also said, “Today, even in his funeral, like he did when he was alive, he united people. People from all over the world have come to pay their respects to Pope Francis. We will miss him, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Odisha court sentences two ganja peddlers to 20 years rigorous imprisonment

Bhubaneswar, Dec 6 (UNI) In a significant verdict under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Second Additional District Judge cum Special Judge, Bhubaneswar, today convicted two interstate ganja peddlers, sentencing them to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposing a fine of Rs. 1 lakh each.

Experts at ROGS conference call for updated fetal medicine & minimally invasive surgery

Ranchi, Dec 6 (UNI) Experts in 23rd Annual Conference of the Ranchi Obstetrics and Gynecological Society (ROGS) highlighted that for advancing women's healthcare the state would require updated fetal medicine protocols, wider adoption of minimally invasive surgical techniques, and continuous clinical skill enhancement for practitioners.
The workshop held at RIMS Auditorium on Saturday emphasized on understanding of women’s health needs and help elevate the overall standard of obstetric and gynecological care in the region.
