Media in Kerala gets increased advertisements: FM Balagopal

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 7 (UNI) Kerala Government is committed to supporting the media by increasing advertisement allocations and providing timely payments of dues, said State Finance Minister KN Balagopal.
"The entire amount earmarked for advertisements in this year’s budget was disbursed to the media within the first quarter itself," the Minister said.
“Media can thrive only if institutions are allowed to survive, and democracy will be strengthened only when journalists are able to work effectively,” he added.
