Md Yunus discusses illegal immigration, Rohingya crisis with UK minister

Dhaka, Nov 14 (UNI) Bangladesh Chief Advisor (CA) Md Yunus, during his meeting with British Minister for International Development Baroness Jenny Chapman on Nov 13, discussed a whole array of bilateral topics such as migration, trade, tackling illegal migration, boosting trade, the Rohingya crisis, and enhancing cooperation in the aviation and maritime sectors.
Expressing particular concern about the abuse of the UK asylum system by migrants from countries, with Bangladesh being one of its biggest exploiters, Chapman stressed the importance of safe and legal migration, instead of abusing political mechanisms, reports Business Standard BD.
Concurring with her assessment, the CA emphasised his govt's commitment to promoting safe migration and encouraging Bangladeshis to seek overseas employment through legal channels.
