MCL honoured during half yearly review meeting on coal sector

Bhubaneswar, Nov 14 (UNI) Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited established in 1992 in Odisha, has been honoured with prestigious recognition, reaffirming its commitment to good governance, cleanliness and community engagement, the coal producing company said in a statement today.
MCL received Special Recognition under Special Campaign 5.0 for its notable efforts in promoting cleanliness, enhancing public awareness and ensuring efficient disposal of pending matters across all its operational areas.
Under the campaign, the company carried out workplace cleanliness drives, outreach activities, digital record management and public engagement initiatives to strengthen transparency and service efficiency.
The company was also awarded the 3rd Prize for Swachhata Pakhwada, acknowledging its impactful cleanliness campaigns, mass plantation drives, sanitation activities, school awareness programmes and extensive community mobilisation undertaken across its command areas during the fortnight-long cleanliness drive.
The awards were presented during the Half Yearly Review Meeting on the Coal Sector organised in New Delhi, in the presence of G. Kishan Reddy, union Minister of Coal & Mines, and Satish Chandra Dubey, union Minister of State for Coal & Mines.
Uday Anant Kaole, CMD, MCL, received the honours on behalf of MCL, accompanied by senior officials.
These recognitions highlight MCL’s ongoing commitment to responsible governance, sustainable mining practices and environmental stewardship.
