Masmashoj Sarpanch murder case: Allegations of political support for main accused.

Beed Oct 7 (UNI) In the case related to the murder of Masmasjog Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, his brother Dhananjay Deshmukh has alleged that several local political representatives are openly supporting the main accused, Valmik Karad.
According to Dhananjay Deshmukh, a fundraising campaign is being conducted for Karad’s release. Around the time of Dussehra, posters and banners featuring Karad’s image were being circulated on mobile phones to collect money. He said that the matter has been brought to the attention of the District Collector and Superintendent of Police.
Deshmukh further stated that since the beginning of the case, local political leaders have shown open support for Valmik Karad. Their silence is equivalent to supporting the accused, he said, adding that unless strict action is taken against such politicians who back the accused, these kinds of incidents will continue.
