Manipur: Political parties urge Guv to rectify anomaly in census

Imphal, May 12 (UNI) Fifteen representatives of various political parties in Manipur met state Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Monday to express their concerns regarding anomalies in the ongoing census process.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the National People’s Party (NPP), Janata Dal (United), Communist Party of India (M), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP - SP), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Republican Party of India -Athawale (RPI - A), Shiv Sena (UBT), Manipur People's Party (MPP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
During the discussions, party representatives submitted a memorandum and voiced their concerns about delimitation exercise.

Calcutta HC cancels 1,600 supernumerary teaching posts for upper primary, terms it illegal

Kolkata, Dec 4 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court on Thursday cancelled 1,600 additional or ‘supernumerary’ posts created by the West Bengal government in upper primary teaching posts for vocational and physical education.
The order of cancellation of 1,600 additional posts was passed by the Calcutta high court single bench judge Justice Biswajit Basu.

Odisha Govt follows a strict zero tolerance policy towards corruption: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar, Dec 4 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday said his government follows a strict “zero tolerance” policy toward corruption.
Replying to a debate in the Odisha Assembly on the additional expenditure claims of the Department of General Administration and Public Grievances, Majhi said the Vigilance Department is working in a hyper-active mode, and its results are evident.

Marandi questions Jharkhand govt's accountability ahead of Winter Session

Ahead of the Winter Session beginning on December 5, Marandi has urged the Speaker to take strict action against departments that, he claims, have ignored legislative procedures and accountability.

Assam prohibits publication of radical literature

Guwahati, Dec 4 (UNI) Publication of all radical literature is banned in Assam. The Home Department of the Assam Government has issued a notification prohibiting publication of all forms of radical literature, both print and digital, associated with banned extremist organisations.
