Manipur Police intensifies operations against drug, militants

Imphal, March 12 (UNI) The overall law and order situation in Manipur remained tense as reports of kidnapping and operations against drug trafficking and militants poured in.
Security forces continued to conduct search operations and area domination exercises in fringe and vulnerable areas across various districts of the state.
Police on Thursday said during a search operation carried out yesterday at the foothill of Kwarok Maring under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station in Thoubal district, security forces recovered a number of arms and ammunition.

Drug seizure triggers chain of violence in Manipur's Bishnupur; 18 injured in firing, four arrested

Imphal/Bishnupur, Apr 14 (UNI) A major drug seizure at Tulihal Airport today set off a chain of events that culminated in fresh violence in Manipur’s Bishnupur district, where at least 18 people, including five women, were seriously injured in firing during clashes between security forces and a mob.
