Manipur CM assures to consider reorganization of districts

Imphal, Aug 12 (UNI )Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh informed the state Assembly on Monday that the government is looking into the hardships faced by the people due to terrain and distance of getting government facilities .
He said it is time to reorganise the district boundaries based on administrative convenience rather than political convenience. To resolve the matter a meeting of the stakeholders; community leaders, and elected members will be called soon, he added.
Leishiyo Keishing of NPF raised a call attention motion on the district boundary issue. He said citizens were unable to go to district headquarters easily as the districts were divided improperly. Some people have to pass through three district headquarters to reach their district headquarters he said.
