Manipur Chief Minister appeals for safe and immediate release of civilians

Imphal, Mar 11 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand has expressed profound concern regarding the distressing situation along the Ukhrul–Imphal road, where innocent Naga civilians have been reportedly held captive by Kuki militants under the area covered by Litan Police Station.
The Chief Minister appealed to those responsible to uphold the highest traditions of humanity and ensure the safe and unconditional release of all the civilians at the earliest. He assured the families of the victims and the public that the Government is treating the matter seriously and will take all necessary steps to book the culprits involved in such cowardly act. He further reiterated that the government is committed to the safety of every citizen of Manipur.
Khemchand has directed senior police and administrative officials to coordinate immediate efforts to keep a vigil on the situation and secure the release of all the civilians. He also appealed to all CSOs and stakeholders to help calm down the situation.

Rare albino snake rescued in Odisha, likely to be shifted to Nandankanan zoo for treatment

Bhubaneswar, Apr 18 (UNI) In a rare wildlife rescue, villagers in the Chhayal Singh area under Bonth block of Odisha’s Bhadrak district rescued an albino snake and safely handed it over to forest officials. The snake, noticed by locals on Friday, was carefully captured and later handed over to the Forest Department.

Odisha: 33 wedding party members injured as vehicle overturns in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, April 18 (UNI) At least 33 members of a wedding party were injured, including 13 critically, after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned at Boriput Ghat under Laxmipur block in Odisha’s Koraput district. According to sources, the group was returning to Bala village under Narayanpatna police limits on Friday night when the accident occurred.
