Manali-Leh road reopens, weather improves across Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Oct 10 (UNI) The Manali-Leh road, which had remained closed for several days due to heavy snowfall, has now been reopened for vehicular movement.
Meanwhile, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has cleared snow from the Baralacha Pass, located 16,500 feet above sea level, after extensive efforts, restoring traffic along the strategic route.
With the improvement in weather conditions and return of sunshine in Himachal Pradesh, temperatures have increased in the plains and mid-mountain areas. Several stations have recorded a significant increase in maximum temperatures during the last 24 hours.

Panchkula, Jun 17 (UNI) Haryana Police have apprehended a Delhi resident for allegedly driving a Thar SUV in a rash and negligent manner on the Sohna-Gurugram Road, endangering the lives of commuters, after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
According to Police, a viral video that came to the notice of Police Station Sadar, Gurugram, on June 17 showed a Thar driver speeding on the busy Sohna-Gurugram Road and overtaking other vehicles recklessly, posing a serious threat to public safety.

Dehra Police destroy 5,500 wild cannabis plants under Drug-Free Himachal Campaign

Dharamshala, Jun 17 (UNI) Under the “Nasha Mukt Himachal Abhiyan” launched by the Himachal Pradesh government, the Dehra Police District has intensified its crackdown on narcotics and destroyed nearly 5,500 naturally grown cannabis plants during special drives conducted in various parts of the district.

Dharamshala, Jun 17 (UNI) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated the redeveloped Fountain Chowk at Kotwali Bazaar, constructed by Dharamshala Smart City Limited at a cost of Rs. 70 lakh, and dedicated a two-storey E-Bus Charging Depot and Maintenance Centre built at the old HRTC workshop premises at a cost of Rs. 11.90 crore.
