Man climbs Eiffel Tower before Olympics closing ceremony, arrested

France, Aug 11 (UNI) French police evacuated the area around the Eiffel Tower after a man, who has since been arrested, was seen climbing the iconic landmark before the Olympics closing ceremony, media reports said.
A shirtless man climbed a 330-meter tower without a harness, It’s unclear where he began his ascent, but he was spotted just above the Olympic rings adorning the second section of the monument, just above the first viewing deck, the Mirror reported.
According to media reports, the incident occurred as the Olympic competition concluded, with security services in Paris and beyond shifting their focus to the closing ceremony.
