Maharaja Trophy 2026 introduces three major rule changes

Bengaluru, June 11 (UNI) Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) officials on Thursday announced three significant rule changes for the 2026 Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament, aimed at enhancing strategy, rewarding bowlers and ensuring fair outcomes through technology.
Speaking at the launch event, Maharaja Trophy governing council member Santosh Menon said teams will now be required to submit their playing XI before the toss, unlike the practice followed in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where teams announce their line-ups after the toss.
"The playing XI has to be given before the teams go for the toss. This is to ensure that there is some thinking involved in getting the impact player in and deciding who you want in the role of an all-rounder," Menon said.
