Maha: Sugar mill workers threaten to go on indefinite strike from Dec 16

Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) The State Sugar Workers' Representatives Committee announced on Monday that the sugar mill workers in the state will go on an indefinite strike from December 16 for their 25 pending demands, including revision of their pay scale.
Addressing a sugar mill workers rally here, Tatyasaheb Kale and Pradeep Shinde, president and vice-president of the Committee respectively, announced their decision to go on indefinite strike from December 16 to press for their various pending demands.
Kale said that the three-party committee agreement about pay hike and improvement of service conditions had expired on March 31, 2024, and the government has been ignoring issue of pay hike of the sugar mill workers, so they have decided to go on indefinite strike from December 16 this year.
