Maha: Social worker Medha Patkar selected for S R Patil Samajbhushan award

Kolhapur, Feb 18 (UNI) Senior social worker and the leader of Narmda Bachao Andolan Medha Patkar has been selected for this year's prestigious late Dr Appasaheb alias S R Patil 'Samaj Bhushan' Puraskar on behalf of Shree Datta Industry Group (DIG).
In a press release issued here on Tuesday, Ganpatrao Patil, chairman of DIG, said that Ms Patkar has been selected for the award in recognition of her contribution as a social worker and work for Narmda Bachao Andolaan.
While, a progressive farmer Vilasrao Shinde (Nashik) has been selected for 'Samajkarya' award and sportsman Swapnil Kusale for 'Prerna' award.
