Maha: Shirala celebrates Nagpanchami under HC guidelines

Sangli (Maharashtra), Aug 9 (UNI) The Nagpanchami festival, traditionally celebrated with live snakes and processions, is now celebrated without them, following high court guidelines.
The occasion is celebrated with enthusiasm by large numbers of devotees in Battis-Shirala, Shirala tehsil, 70 km away.
Shree Amba Mata's pujari performed Abhishek and puja' of the effigy of snakes and took out a procession of Amba Mata's festival idol from 'Palkhi' in the presence of the people as per the direction of the district administration.
