Maha: Sharad Pawar vows to preserve social unity amid reservation row

Nashik, Sept 13 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar has vowed to preserve social unity in Maharashtra, stating, "We will pay whatever price we want, but we will preserve social unity." His declaration comes amid growing tensions between the Maratha and OBC communities in the state over reservation issues.
Pawar, who is on a four-day visit to Nashik, made the statement at the unveiling ceremony of the statue of the late Dadasaheb Gaikwad in Ambe Dindori. He emphasised the importance of social harmony in the current political climate.
In his address, the NCP leader reflected on Gaikwad's significant role in social work and politics, noting that he had worked closely with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. He also recalled Nashik's historical significance in the United Maharashtra movement.
