Maha: Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati demands removal of dog's statue on Raigad fort

Kolhapur, Mar 23 (UNI) Raigad Development Corporation president and former MP, Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati, on Sunday demanded to remove dog's tomb and statue, erected on historic Raigad fort near memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, as there is no mention or reference to the character named 'Waghya Kutra' (Shivaji's dog) in the history of Shivaji Maharaj.
In a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Sambhajiraje said, "It is a misfortune for
Maharashtra to erect a tomb and statue of a fictional dog next to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's memorial and it should be removed by May 31, as there is no mention or reference to this character evident in the history."
