Mumbai Aug 14 (UNI) Mumbai police arrested a man on Wednesday who, along with his associates, foiled an attempt to smuggle mephedrone, a synthetic drug worth Rs 3 crore, into the city when they intercepted a car at one of the entry points in the eastern suburbs.
According to police sources, around 1 am, a blue Maruti Suzuki Baleno was stopped over suspicion during a vehicle check on the southbound main road at the Airoli toll naka in Mulund (East).
The police said they found 2.29 kg of mephedrone concealed in the car. While two occupants of the vehicle managed to escape, the police nabbed its driver, Mohammed Kalim Salim Chaudhary, 27, a Kurla (West) resident. They are looking for a Kurla resident, Saquib, and a third unknown person.
