Maha: PM Modi criticises Congress, MVA at Dhule rally

Dhule (Mah), Nov 8 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hit out at the opposition Congress party and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), accusing them of hatching a dangerous conspiracy to sow conflict between castes in the country.
Addressing his first rally in this district of north Maharashtra for upcoming assembly election, he claimed that "it is my duty to warn the public against this conspiracy of Congress and its allies."
He also accused that from the pre-independence period till today, they have only worked to create conflict between castes and tribes.
"This is the history of Congress, and the same legacy has been carried forward by the crown princes of Congress," he claimed.
Attacking the Congress and its allies, Modi charged that they do not tolerate the progress of Dalits, backward classes and tribals.
Architect of the Constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar tried for reservation for these communities, but Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru failed to prevent Dalits, backward classes and tribals from getting reservation, he claimed.
The Prime Minister also claimed that the policy of the Congress is to weaken the organized power of the backward classes and scheduled castes by creating differences between them.
He recalled that the Vajpayee government at the Centre had for the first time set up a separate ministry for tribals, and tribals got justice, he opined.
Tribals are a major component of the BJP government's 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' resolution at the Centre, he claimed.
In his criticism of MVA, Modi claimed that "we have come into politics to serve the people, while some come to loot the people."
"When people like in the MVA come to power, they stop development, do corruption in every scheme. You have experienced the power of Maha Vikas Aghadi who came to power by threatening the people," he claimed.
"This situation changed when the Mahayuti (grand alliance) government came to power. In last two and half years, the Mahayuti government has set new records for the development of Maharashtra and the faith of development has been re-established," he claimed.
"As there is a BJP-grand alliance government in the state, the speed of development and progress of Maharashtra will continue," he noted.
"The Mahayuti has assured to give new prosperity to Maharashtra. This promise means increasing speed of development, guaranteed progress of Maharashtra and in this promise, there is a plan for economic progress of every social group, a sense of equality, a sense of security and the belief of 'Sabka Saath'," he claimed.
Talking about women empowerment, the Prime Minister said that for a developed Maharashtra, for a developed India, it is necessary to make the life of women bearable and empower them.
For the progress of women, the central government has implemented many schemes in last 10 years by keeping women at the centre, he pointed.
He said that the government has opened all the doors of new opportunities for women in more fields including the armed forces, reservation for women in assembly and parliament.
He claimed that the Congress leaders mocked them, but today these schemes have become plans for women's empowerment.
"The grand coalition government in the state is working to fulfil our resolution," he noted.
"Due to the steps that we are taking for women empowerment, the Congress and its allies are upset. The Chief Minister's Ladki Bahin Yojana is gaining popularity in every corner of the country," he claimed and blamed the Congress supporters for moving the court against the scheme.
Modi also touched upon how his government accorded the status of classical language to Marathi language.
"Today, Maharashtra is getting first choice for foreign investment. In last two years, more than 50 per cent of the investments have come in Maharashtra alone. Maharashtra has become the first choice state for all industries. Many industries are coming up in different areas of the state," he added.
