Maha: MLAs raise concern over urea shortage, seek immediate intervention from Agriculture Minister

Mumbai, Jun 11 ( UNI) Amid concerns over a shortage of urea and other chemical fertilizers during the ongoing kharif season, several legislators have approached Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharane, demanding immediate availability of fertilizer stocks in rural areas.
Although the Centre and the state government have maintained that fertilizer supplies are higher than last year, farmers across several regions, particularly in Marathwada, are reportedly facing an acute shortage of urea. Legislators informed the minister that the scarcity is affecting agricultural operations and urged the government to ensure that the allocated quota of urea reaches their constituencies without delay.
Among those who met the minister were BJP MLA Suresh Dhas, Shiv Sena MLA Kailas Patil, and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar, along with a few other legislators. They highlighted the growing difficulties faced by farmers due to inadequate fertilizer availability.
