Maha: Minister announces assistance of Rs 165.83 cr for rain-hit orange farmers

Mumbai, Jan 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Makarand Jadhav-Patil said on Wednesday that assistance of Rs 165.83 crore will be given as a special relief to rain-affected orange farmers of Vidarbha region.
He said that farmers are devastated due to the loss of crops due to natural calamities and expressed that the government stands firmly behind the loss-affected farmers to provide support and relief.
Farmers in Arvi sub-division of Wardha district, Amravati, Akola and Buldhana districts suffered losses due to fruit drop of orange crop due to cloudy weather and incessant rains from July to August 2024, he added.
