Maha: Members of Opposition MVA, others take oath as MLAs in Assembly

Mumbai, Dec 8 (UNI) Members of the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and others on Sunday took oath as MLAs in the newly constituted Maharashtra Assembly.
As many as 105 members of the newly elected members took oath. Prominent among them from Opposition were Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Aaditya Thackery, Sunil Parbhu, Congress state president Nana Patole, Vijay Wadettiwar, NCP (SP) leaders Rohit Pawar, Jitendra Awhad.
While, the members of the ruling party BJP state president Chandarkant Bawankule, Mangal Parbhat Lodha, Sanjay Upadhhya and others.
The Opposition members had boycotted the oath-taking ceremony on Saturday -- the first day of the special three-day session of the assembly, alleging misuse of electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the recently held state polls.
On the first day, 173 members from ruling Mahayuti comprising Shiv Sena, BJP, NCP (Ajit Pawar group) took oath out of 288 newly elected members of the assembly.
On December six, senior member Kalidas Sulochana Nilkanth Kolambakar was given the oath at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, who was later appointed as the Pro-tem Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly.
According to details, the remaining nine members will be administered an oath on Monday (tomorrow).

Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, Jan 16 (UNI) Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane said that today's results of Municipal Corporation in the state indicated that people who aligned with the "Jay Shri Ram" and "I Love Mahadev" slogans (referencing a pro-Hindutva mindset) were on track to win most of the mayor's seats in the state.
