Maha: Liquor worth around Rs 13.43 lakh seized in Kolhapur, 2 held

Kolhapur, Nov 3 (UNI) The Local Crime Branch (LCB) on Sunday seized from two places in the district India-made foreign liquor collectively worth around Rs 13.43 lakh and arrested two men in this connection.
In an incident, acting on a tip off, an LCB team stopped a car on suspicion on Vathar-Warna road near Nave Pargaon village in Hatkangale tehsil of the district and during search of the vehicle, police found boxes of Goa-made foreign and country liquor, which they seized along with car worth around Rs 6,02,400 and arrested one Mahesh Balasi Patil (36).
In another incident, acting on a reliable information, an LCB team conducted a raid at Parle village in Chandgad tehsil of the district and recovered illegal stock of foreign liquor made in Goa worth Rs 7,40,880.
Police arrested one Shivaji Dhaklu Gavde (38) in this regard.
Further investigation is ongoing in both cases, an official press release said here.
