Maha: HC reserves order on plea of mother of accused in Salman Khan firing case

Mumbai, Feb 13 (UNI) The Bombay High Court has reserved its order on a plea filed by Rita Devi, mother of Anuj Thapan — the accused in firing outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence who had allegedly committed suicide in custody — seeking a CBI probe into his death, alleging foul play.
A division bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Neela Gokhale reserved its order after arguments of both prosecution and defence concluded on Wednesday.
During the hearing, petitioner advocate raised doubts over the magisterial inquiry report, which ruled Thapan’s death a suicide, upon which the bench directed the State to show the relevant portion of the CCTV footage to Devi's advocate.

Battle of Dharma and adharma, says RSS chief Bhagwat post Pahalgam

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday condemned the terrorist attack in J&K's Pahalgam, saying the battle is "not between sects or religions, but between Dharma and adharma."
Speaking at an award ceremony in Vile Parle in Mumbai on the occasion of the 83rd death anniversary of Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar, the RSS chief said, "Our soldiers or other people will not kill anyone by asking about their religion. Hindus will never do that."
After the terrorist attack, a wave of anger has swept across the country. "No one saw caste, religion or sect in it. If this happens all the time, no one will dare to look at us with a crooked eye and if anyone does, the eye will burst", said Bhagwat.
