Maha Govt misusing its power: activist

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Feb 27 (UNI) Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital here since Monday night after his condition deteriorated due to hunger strike, he alleged on Tuesday that the Mahayuti government is misusing its power.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said that three days ago he told the community members at Antarwali Sarati village that a conspiracy was being hatched to trap him.
A case has been filed against the members of Maratha community who were protesting peacefully, he said.
"We demand that an inquiry be conducted of police personnel who lathicharged and opened fire on women and elderly people who were on a peaceful hunger strike," he said.
Jarange-Patil also demanded that the ministers who had ordered the baton charge should also be investigated.
He also demanded that call data records of that time should also be submitted to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
He said, "I never spoke against Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in last six months but I spoke against him now that he is acting murderously. I am not against or close to any political party or leader. We will not spare anyone who speaks against Maratha reservation."
Jarange-Patil appealed to the members of the community that they should stand firmly behind him.
Asserting that he has not taken a single rupee from anyone, the activist said that no matter how many SITs they appoint, he is ready to face them.
"If I had to go to jail while fighting for the community, I won't back down," he emphasised.
The Maratha reservation movement is not over and that there will be a peaceful protest on March three, he added.
