Mumbai Feb 25 (UNI) The Maharashtra government announced an increase in the amount provided to farmers under the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojna (NSMNY) from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000, the official said here on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made the announcement at an event in Nagpur, adding that the decision was taken to ensure financial stability for farmers. Farmers in Maharashtra get an annual amount of Rs 6,000 under the Centre’s PM-Kisan Yojna and an equivalent amount under the state’s NSMNY in three installments.
Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 9000 will be transferred annually in three equal installments.
