Maha Govt agrees to extend financial benefits to widow of Major Anuj Sood

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) In a significant development, the Maharashtra government on Wednasday told the Bombay high court that it is ready to grant financial benefits to Aakriti Singh-Sood, widow of late Major Anuj Sood, who was martyred in May 2020 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The State stated this during the hearing of a petition filed by Anju Sood's widow, seeking benefits of ex-servicemen under two government resolutions of 2019 and 2020.
Major Sood lost his life on May two, 2020, while rescuing civilian hostages from terrorist hideouts in Jammu and Kashmir, and was awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously.
