Maha: Foreign liquor worth Rs 1 crore seized in Nashik, 1 held

Nashik, Feb 8 (UNI) The flying squad of State Excise Department on Saturday seized Indian-made foreign liquor worth Rs one crore from a container at Pimpalgaon Jalal Shivar on Kopargaon-Yeola road of the district while illegally being transported from Madhya Pradesh and arrested its driver in this connection.
The flying squad stopped a container coming from Madhya Pradesh on suspicion at Pimpalgaon-Jalal Shivar on Kopargaon-Yeola road of the district and during search of the vehicle, they seized 1,141 boxes of foreign liquor manufactured in Madhya Pradesh, along with the vehicle and a mobile handset, approximately worth Rs 1,07,72,880, have been seized, sources said.
In this action, the suspected accused Shambhu Singh Bheru Singh Rajput (33), vehicle driver, resident of Bassi, Salambar tehsil, Udaipur district, Rajasthan, was arrested while owner of the seized vehicle and an unknown suspect absconded from the spot.
