Maha: Cyber Police book 14 social media accounts for alleged defamation of BJP spokesperson Navnath Ban

Mumbai, Jul 18 (UNI) Maharashtra Cyber Police have registered an FIR against 14 social media accounts, including one operating under the name "Gajabhau", for allegedly posting defamatory and misleading content targeting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state chief spokesperson Navnath Ban.
The First Information Report was registered on July 17 based on a complaint filed by Maharashtra BJP social media co-convenor Nikhil Bhamre.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly misused Ban's name, photograph and official designation to circulate fake, objectionable and defamatory content on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
