Maha: CMs of Congress-led Govts expose lies spread by PM Modi, other BJP leaders

Mumbai, Nov 9 (UNI) The Chief Ministers of three Congress-led governments in the country on Saturday exposed the lies spread by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders in the run-up to the Maharashtra Assembly election.
In a detailed rebuttal given in a historic press conference at the party headquarters here, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar responded firmly to very misinformation that BJP is trying to spread.
They claimed that through false advertisements in newspapers, BJP misled people by claiming that the Congress had not fulfilled the guarantees announced in Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal.
HP CM Sukhu exposed BJP's dishonesty, saying that like Maharashtra, Himachal also faced “Operation Kamal”, but the people believed in Congress’ guarantees and governance, and brought them back to power.
Soon after formation of the Congress government, he informed that the Old Pension scheme was restored in the first cabinet meeting.
Those who were receiving Rs 5,000 are now receiving Rs 50,000, he claimed.
Sukhu further claimed that farmers were getting a support price of Rs 30 per kilogram for corn, Rs 40 per kg for wheat, Rs 45 per litre for cow's milk and Rs 55 per litre for buffalo milk.
Moreover, every person over age of 58 years was receiving Rs 1,500 per month, he informed.
Girls over the age of 18 years were receiving a stipend of Rs 1,500, he claimed that financial aid was also being provided to girls for pursuing medical education and PhD studies.
To fulfil these guarantees, revenue sources have been increased, the HP CM added.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi had fulfilled promise of an independent Telangana state.
During the Assembly elections there, the party had made six guarantees. Accordingly, after the party came to power in Telangana, all farmers in the state received a loan waiver of Rs two lakh, benefiting 22 lakh farmers.
So far, Rs 18 crore had been disbursed, he claimed and informed that in last 10 months, 50,000 government jobs were given.
Under the Mahalakshmi Scheme, free bus travel for women has been started and Rs 3,400 crore had been given to the Bus Corporation.
For the Mahalakshmi Scheme, a provision of Rs 20,000 crore has been made for five years, or Rs 4,000 crore annually.
Additionally, 59 lakh families receive a household gas cylinder for Rs 500, he said.
The Telangana CM further said that he will fulfil Rahul Gandhi's promise of a caste-wise census by starting the exercise in January 2025.
Revanth Reddy mentioned that when PM Modi tweeted about no loan waiver in Telangana, he sent him a report and Modi deleted his tweet, he alleged.
He accused BJP of misleading people because they had nothing significant to say against Congress.
Revanth Reddy made an emotional appeal to public that they should not let BJP-alliance's Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis-Ajit Pawar government to mortgage Maharashtra -- the land of great men like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Bal Thackeray and Sharad Pawar -- to Gujarat.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said that during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi undertook a 22-day-long journey in the state, understanding the people’s issues and concerns, which led to announcement of six guarantees.
After the Congress came to power, it started with implementation of these guarantees.
Accordingly, under the Gruhalakshmi Scheme, 1.22 crore women receive Rs 2,000 per month.
Under the Gruha Jyoti Scheme, 1.64 crore families get free electricity up to 200 units.
So far, 3.20 crore women have availed free bus travel under the Shakti Scheme.
Under the Yuva Nidhi Scheme, five lakh students receive Rs 3,000 a month.
All these guarantees were implemented within 60 days of government formation, with a provision of Rs 52,000 crore, the Karnataka Deputy CM said.
On this occasion, Shivakumar gave an open invitation to BJP leaders to travel through 33 districts in Karnataka to verify about implementation of these guarantees and also offered to make arrangements of special flights and buses.
