Maha: CM, DyCM condole demise of journalist Pandharinath Sawant

Mumbai, Feb 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday paid tributes to senior journalist and editor Pandharinath Sawant, saying he was a combination of fearlessness and knowledge.
Sawant, former executive editor of 'Marmik', the first satirical weekly in Marathi, passed away due to old age today.
In his condolence message, Fadnavis said, "Sawant created recognition in Marathi journalism with his writing style. Having the company of the evangelist and the venerable Shiv Sena founder-president Bal Thackeray, he had the luxury of making a bold statement. Sawant also accurately depicted international issues. His candour and fearlessness will continue to be a model for many, including new generation in journalism.
