Maha: BJP MLA Nitesh Rane urges to change police officer in Disha Salian case

Mumbai, Jul 16 (UNI) In a fresh development into the death of celebrity talent manager Disha Salian, BJP MLA Nitesh Rane, who has been summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Mumbai police to share information about Salian’s death case, on Tuesday urged the city police to change the investigation officer as he has alleged links with Matoshree (residence of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray).
“I have reservations about an officer, and according to my sources, he has links with Matoshree [residence of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray]. I requested the Commissioner of Police to change the officer to ensure a transparent investigation, and then I will provide my statement. The CP assured me that an additional CP or DCP-level officer would be appointed. I am ready to provide my statement, but if it is manipulated, it would be wrong as this officer has such a background,” he said in a post on X.
Notably, Disha had reportedly died by suicide by jumping from the 14th floor of Galaxy Regent building at Malad in the far western suburb of Mumbai on the intervening night of June 8-9, 2020.
