Maha: Agri Dept inspector trapped in bribery case

Sangli, Apr 25 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested an Agriculture Department inspector of Sangli division while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a complainant.
Accused Santosh Rajaram Chaudhari, a district merit inspector in Sangli Agri department, had demanded Rs 30,000 as bribe for giving a survey report to complainant to install Agri drugs company in Kadegaon MIDC area of the district.
However, complainant informed about this to ACB office, whose team laid a trap and caught red-handed Chaudhari with bribe money, an official press release said here.

Three women Naxalites, 2 minors detained in Maha's Gadchiroli

Mumbai, May 20 (UNI) The police in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district announced on Tuesday that they have arrested three women Naxalites and detained two minors from the Binagunda area in the Bhamragarh subdivision in a joint counter-offensive campaign with the Central Reserve Police Force. They were collectively carried a reward of Rs 36 lakh on their heads, officials said.
