Maha: ACB officials nab executive engineer for accepting Rs 30,000 bribe

Kolhapur, May 13 (UNI) Anti-Corruption Berou (ACB) officials on Tuesday arrested an executive engineer in Maharashtra's Kolhapur district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the complainant for approving electricity connections to a new apartment.
The arrested person has been identified as Prashant Rathi, executive engineer of Mahavitaran's Ichalkaranji city.
An ACB press release said the complainant had applied for six new electricity connections for a new apartment. He met Rathi for approval of the new connections, but the official demanded total Rs 30,000 - Rs 5,000 for sanctioning one connection.
