Maha: 134th anniversary of Kolhapur–Miraj railway line celebrated with enthusiasm at Kolhapur, Miraj stations

Pune, Apr 21 (UNI) The historic Kolhapur–Miraj railway line, a visionary initiative of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, completed 134 glorious years of service on Monday.
To commemorate this occasion, celebrations were held at Kolhapur and Miraj railway stations. The Kolhapur–Miraj railway line was inaugurated on April 21, 1891, and stands as a proud legacy of the progressive foresight of Lokraja Shahu Maharaj.
The construction of this railway line began on May three, 1888, and was completed in a record time of two years and 352 days. The line included 75 bridges and culverts and significantly improved connectivity and trade in southern Maharashtra, said a release here.
