Macron says India leads global innovation, not just participates , commits to long-term partnership in defence and space

Mumbai, Feb 17 (UNI) French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday lauded India’s growing influence in the field of innovation, asserting that the country is not merely a participant in global innovation but a leader shaping it. Speaking at the India–France Innovation Forum here, Macron highlighted India’s strong global presence in the technology sector and praised its remarkable achievements.
During his address, the French President pointed out that several leading global technology companies are headed by individuals of Indian origin. He referred to the chief executives of Alphabet, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, Palo Alto Networks and Chanel, underlining that their Indian roots reflect the country’s deep talent pool and global impact in innovation and enterprise.
Reaffirming France’s commitment to strengthening ties with India, Macron said his country stands firmly with its partner. “We are here. We want to be here with you. And we are not leaving,” he stated, signalling France’s intention to maintain and expand long-term cooperation.
