LS polls: Kathu RO frames 10 AROs, 60 teams to count postal ballots

Jammu, May 29 (UNI) The Returning Officer, Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency Dr. Rakesh Minhas (DEO Kathua) on Wednesday constituted 60 teams for counting of ETPBS votes polled in the entire Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency.
Chairing a meeting cum training session held for the AROs designated for counting of votes under Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) in the conference hall of DC Office complex, Kathua, Minhas while interacting with AROs, laid thrust on acquainting with laid down guidelines of ECI on counting of postal ballot paper.
He further instructed them to go through the Hand Book issued by ECI to have clear insights into different aspects like scanning of QR codes on ballot, declaring the ballot valid or invalid etc and further acquaint their team members with all the guidelines and procedures.

Srinagar, June 20 (UNI) Former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday asked the Army to investigate allegations that soldiers were forcing youngsters in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district to work as "bonded labourers."


She said a new Army camp was set up at Manzgam village which is home to a Muslim shrine and a Hindu temple.
