LG orders forcible removal Atishi’s belongings from Delhi CM residence: CMO

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister's Office on Wednesday claimed that Delhi's Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has ordered the forcible removal of Chief Minister Atishi’s belongings from her official residence.
In an official statement issued today, Chief Minister's Office said,”The Lieutenant Governor intends to allocate the residence to a senior BJP leader.”
“After 27 years of being out of power in Delhi, the BJP's desperate attempt to take illegal control of the Chief Minister's residence is part of a larger conspiracy,” it alleged.
Aam Aadmi Party’s Chief Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said, “Lieutenant Governor needs to understand that residing in the Chief Minister's house requires winning the Delhi Assembly elections.“
“For the past 27 years, the BJP has not been able to win elections in Delhi, and thus, the party is making every possible effort to strip the powers of the elected government, trouble the people of Delhi, and obstruct the functioning of the elected government,” She said.
Ms. Kakkar further added, “BJP’s anti-women mentality has once again been exposed in front of the people of Delhi and the country. During Navratri, the BJP forcibly removed a woman Chief Minister’s belongings from her official residence, an act unprecedented in history.”
“BJP has always relied on lies and is a party built on falsehoods. On October 4, the former Chief Minister formally handed over the keys to the residence, after which the official procedures were followed,” Kakkar said.
“An elected Chief Minister should reside in the official residence. If the Lieutenant Governor wishes for a BJP leader to live in the Chief Minister’s residence, they must contest elections, win, and then live there as the Chief Minister,” she added.
