LG, CM lay foundation stone for Rs.64 crore project to make Nangloi-Najafgarh road monsoon-proof

New Delhi, Jan 13(UNI) Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the strengthening and modernisation of the Nangloi-Najafgarh Road along with comprehensive drainage works, a project aimed at providing long-term relief from waterlogging and traffic congestion in West Delhi.
The project includes the construction of new stormwater drains, upgradation of existing drains and proper outfall connections with the Ranhola Drain, Najafgarh (Sahibi River) and Mungeshpur Drain. The road will be strengthened and reconstructed, and RCC crash barriers will be installed along the central verge to ensure safe and effective drainage during the monsoon.
The project is being jointly implemented by three Public Works Department divisions — WR-1, WR-2 and SWR-2 — with coordination among agencies including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Development Authority, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Delhi Jal Board, power and gas utilities, and the Traffic Police to ensure effective and sustainable execution.
