LED bulbs at highly discounted prices to 43.8 lakh domestic consumers

Chandigarh, Mar 11 (UNI) Haryana Government plans to distribute LED bulbs at highly discounted prices to 43.8 lakh domestic consumers under all operation circles of DISCOMs to reduce the peak demand, and eventually cut down the annual energy consumption in the state.
This will be done under the Energy Efficient Programme.
The Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today formally launched the Ujala (LED bulbs) scheme of Haryana Power DISCOMs. Under the scheme, replacing ordinary ones with LED bulbs for 43.8 lakh people will result in an estimated cost saving of 1165.76 Million Units (MUs) of electricity annually in the state.
