Latin American leaders slam Trump for not attending COP30 summit

Belem, Nov 7 (UNI) Several Latin American leaders sharply criticised US President Donald Trump for his anti-green, anti-climate change stance during the opening day of the COP30 UN climate summit in Belém, Brazil, on Thursday, accusing him of spreading misinformation, and threatening future generations by denying reality, and undermining global climate action.
The COP30 summit in Belém, which runs for two weeks, has drawn representatives from nearly 200 nations seeking to advance global commitments to cut emissions and limit warming.
Without directly naming Trump, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, subtly attacked him in a veiled jab, condemning "extremist forces that fabricate fake news and are condemning future generations to life on a planet altered forever by global warming," reports Politico.
