Last rites of victim in Pahalgam terror attack held with State honours

Kochi, Apr 25 (UNI) The last rites of RSS activist N Ramachandran, who has been gunned down in front of his daughter and grandsons in the Pahalgam terror attack on Tuesday afternoon, were conducted with state honours here on Friday.
He was laid to rest at the Shanthikavadam Crematorium in Edappally. His mortal remains were brought to Cochin International Airport here on Wednesday around 8 pm.
Ramachandran went to Kashmir with his family members including his wife Sheela, daughter Aarti and two grandchildren on April 21.

DVAC raids Ex-AIADMK Minister premises in DA case

Chennai, May 17 (UNI) The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on
Saturday conducted searches at the residences of former AIADMK Minister Sevur
S. Ramachandran, a sitting MLA from the Arani Assembly constituency, at Sevur
village near Arani town in Tiruvannamalai district for allegedly amassing wealth
disproportionate to his known sources of income when he was serving as HR and
CE Minister during the previous AIADMK regime.
Reports said the raids were also carried out at locations linked to his two sons,
Vijayakumar and Santoshkumar, in Tiruvannamalai and Vellore districts respectively.

Five drown, 3 escape as Van plunges in 50 ft deep well

managed to escape when the van in which they were travelling plunged
into a 50 ft deep road side well near Sathankulam in the southern
Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday evening.
