Lack of access still a roadblock for disabled population in India

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Despite making tremendous policy and legal progress with the RPWD Act of 2016, the disabled population in India still has miles to cover in making the most of the right to access.
The country has a disabled population of over 3 crore, but only a small proportion of this community can be seen in public. One of the main causes for this is a general lack of access.
On Wednesday, disability specialists, businesses, and institutions working on universal designs highlighted these during the 15th annual NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Awards ceremony.
