KTR slams police action on unemployed youth, seeks mega constable recruitment drive

Hyderabad, June 16 (UNI): BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Tuesday strongly condemned the alleged lathi-charge and arrests of unemployed youth, students and Unemployed JAC leaders during a protest in Dilsukhnagar, terming it an attack on democratic rights.
Accusing the Congress government of betraying unemployed youth, KTR in a statement said the party had come to power promising two lakh government jobs, mega recruitment notifications and a job calendar, but had failed to fulfil those assurances. He questioned the government's decision to fill only 5,000 police posts when more than 20,000 constable vacancies exist in the state.
Demanding an immediate mega notification for 20,000 constable posts, KTR said thousands of aspirants had been preparing for recruitment examinations for years and were facing financial and age-related hardships. He also called for relaxation of the upper age limit for job seekers.
